Knee and TV

Knee:
Surgery went very well, so I'm told--due to the marvelously effective drugs given to me, I have no recollection of ever moving from the bed in the preparation room. Everyone told me it went well, and I was very pale afterward. My ACL was reconstructed, and they repaired, thankfully, instead of removed, my menisci. Michiyo and Hiroki have incredible with their support and help, as well as my Mom, family, and friends. After one physical therapy session today, I all ready feel further along than I did after the immediate injury. I am pretty wiped, though, so I'm keeping this post short. Thank you for your well wishes and thoughts.

TV:
Channel 5 came to the offices of Abra-Kid-Abra at the new Art Space at Crestwood Plaza in St. Louis. I performed a magic show to an audience of kids and mommies. It went well, and you can watch it by clicking here.

Sunday night

Here's a few pics and an update on my knee injury. The last post was about my cousin Laurie's wedding. The day after that, we gave Hiroki his first hair cut. Back in march, at the Magic House, one of the first things we did was go to the Electro-Ball that makes your hair stand up. Consider this a "Before" picture:
Hiro had a lot of hair. I trimmed the sides and back of his hair, then Michiyo snipped his bangs. I'll never forget it: With one swipe of the scissors, Hiroki, at just over 13 months old, was not a baby any more. Here is the "After," with a special mug for the camera:
One more fun shot: In April, our friends Molly and Jim Kelly hosted a backyard party. This was a Mommy shot:
Michiyo and Hiroki, Molly and Jack Kelly, and Nancy and Juliet Siemer. Jack is wearing an "Older Brother" T-shirt to announce to the world that Molly is pregnant (you can see more of Molly and Jack at her excellent blog, irishkellys.blogspot.com).

About that knee--Tonight is May 3rd, and I will be on drugs and under the knife tomorrow, finally. My ACL will be re-constructed, my menisci repaired or removed, and rehabilitation shall begin. I don't know if I will have down time or feel like posting much, but many people have asked about it. Wish me luck.
