Laurie's Wedding 4-4-09

My cousin Laurie got married this past weekend. Our family weddings have always been fun, and now that there is a new wave of little ones added to the mix, the level of enjoyment keeps going up.

Hiroki just started this "Hamming it up" face. Fortunately, he can do it almost on command if we want to get him to smile for a photo.
At Union Station, the ceiling towered above us with an interesting design. Daddy and Hiro spent a few moments checking it out.
While visiting us last year when Hiroki was born, Grandma Chieko, Michiyo's Mom, picked out a cool little suit for Hiro to someday wear. At 13 months, he's fitting into perfectly, just in time!
My cousin Craig and Kristen had Luke within a few weeks of Hiroki, so the two Moms posed with the two suited-up boys. Hilariously, when we showed this picture to Michiyo's Mom via webcam, Chieko looked at it with her regrettably decreasing eyesight and asked, "Are those twins?" Close, Grandma, Luke's hair is tad shorter.

Hiroki has made it very clear who his favorite person in my immediate family is: Grandpa! Whenever we are around Papa Joe, Hiro goes right to him. He likes everybody else okay, but he is especially content in my Dad's arms.

Great Reception Memory: the Women's NCAA Final Four took place in St. Louis this year, and there were lots of people from each team staying at Union Station, where the wedding was. As if on cue, the University of Louisville dance team came in the building right when "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C+C Music Factory was playing. We all welcomed them to the dance floor, Laurie and Warren rolled right with it, and we all knew who we would be rooting to win.

Katie (on the left) carried on a tradition started at Andy and Jill's wedding last year, by taking the table decorations and accessorizing with them. Lynn used the purple to show off her bump, and Michiyo enjoyed as well, but requested that her image be removed from this photo. Yes, dear.
Hiroki ended the night in a Pack N Play on the balcony overlooking an empty Union Station. He ate, he danced, he smiled, he hugged, and then he was out quickly.
Congratulations Warren and Laurie!
